The marriage ceremony - the reason you are here. This is the part of your wedding that will be in your
hearts, and on your video, forever. It has to be perfect. Many couples come to maui for their wedding without a lot of friends and family.
Therefore a meaningful ceremony, performed by someone you feel good about is especially important. We take great pride in matching each
couple with the perfect officiant.
We work with ordained ministers of different denominations and licensed state officiants. We can provide officiants that speak Hawaiian,
Spanish, German, and Japanese. Jewish officants are available as well. We can also provide information about getting married in a Catholic
church on Maui. Couples are always welcome to write their own vows, and/or incorporate anything into their ceremony that makes it more
personal and meaningful to them. We can send you copies of ceremonies of the officiants we work with most often. Below are some popular
variations that may be added to your ceremony. The lei exchange is the most common and is used by almost all officiants.
We are happy to discuss your ceremony in detail. Just let us know what your needs and preferences are.

Hawaiian Lei Exchange
The Hawaiian Lei Exchange brings the true spirit of the islands to your Maui wedding. It explains the origin of the lei, how it was
used in ancient Hawaii, and how it applies to your marriage agreement. It concludes with an exchanging of leis in the traditional way and
a Hawaiian blessing. A perfect touch for those who want a Hawaiian flavor. |

The Rose Ceremony
In the ancient language of flowers, the red rose has always symbolized love. In this wedding ceremony the couple
exchange their first gifts as husband and wife. They are invited to place a vase in a special place in their home so that on
anniversaries or at a time when there is disagreement between them they can place a rose in the vase and be reminded of their
wedding day and recapture the special love they shared at that moment. This is a touching ceremony and offers a more traditional
flair. |

The Candle-Lighting Ceremony
This special ceremony is designed for indoor weddings. The bride and groom each light a candle from a candelabra
and together light the Unity candle. The bright flame of love is kindled with the light of life of the two. Three candles are
lit in turn: the bride and groom each light a candle in the candelabra. With that candle they together light the unity candle,
signifying the two becoming one. This moving ceremony explains the spiritual meaning and purpose of marriage and lends itself to
any faith or philosophy. |

Traditional Hawaiian Ceremony
It is important to specify whether you desire a Hawaiian officiant or a Hawaiian ceremony. Some Hawaiian
officiants perform a traditional Christian ceremony and add a Hawaiian blessing or pule (prayer). Others offer a true Hawaiian
style ceremony with chanting and blowing of the pu, or conch shell. It is different with each officiant and it is important to
let us know which you prefer if you choose a Hawaiian officiant. You can have a little Hawaiian flavor, or a completely Hawaiian
ceremony. |
