Maui Ministers
Getting married in Maui is simple from a legal standpoint. You just need to get a marriage license from a licensing agent. The bride and groom must both be present when getting the license, and it will be valid for 30 days. Both people must be 18 years or older to get married without their parents' consent. You will also need to know the name and birthplaces of both your parents, as this info is required on the application. If you are divorced, you will have to provide information about where your divorce was finalized. The marriage license fee is $60, which you must pay in cash. Of course, if you are planning a wedding with a wedding coordinator like "I Do" Weddings Maui, a marriage license is already included in your package. Once you have your marriage license, you will need to find somebody to perform the ceremony for you. Lewanna Godinez, owner of "I Do" Weddings Maui, is an ordained minister who can perform your ceremony for you. Whether you want traditional vows or to write your own, she will make your service warm and personal. Or, you can ask her for a recommendation to a minister of your chosen denomination, or a licensed officiant who is non-sectarian. Marriage officiants must be licensed by the State of Hawaii to perform marriages in Maui. After you are married, you will need to have a marriage certificate prepared and filed with the Department of Health. Your minister can take care of this for you. When you hire "I Do" Weddings Maui, this is one less thing you have to worry about. From start to finish, all the details of your wedding are handled professionally, no matter how simple or extravagant you want your ceremony to be.
